Protection of Media Workers Prioritized by Government, Says Information Minister


Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced the immediate suspension of government advertisements for a television channel that recently terminated 170 employees. According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar made this announcement in the National Assembly following a meeting with journalists who had staged a walkout from the Press Gallery in protest.



The Information Minister stated that the management of the TV channel, which has not paid its employees for the past three months, has been summoned to Islamabad to address the issue. Tarar also expressed gratitude to the media personnel for ending their protest.



Earlier in the Assembly, Tarar emphasized that the protection of media workers is a priority for the government. He mentioned that matters related to job security and benefits for journalists will be addressed. The Minister assured that these issues will be resolved through consultations with coalition partners and the opposition.
