ISLAMABAD: A significant wave of promotions has swept through the Islamabad Police, elevating 111 officers to higher ranks as part of an ongoing departmental initiative. The promotions, driven by the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aim to recognize and reward the dedication and professional competence of police personnel.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the Departmental Promotion Committee held a series of meetings to assess vacant positions and evaluate officers based on criteria such as service records, performance, and seniority. Following these evaluations, 37 Sub-Inspectors advanced to the rank of Inspector, while 74 Assistant Sub-Inspectors were elevated to Sub-Inspector. A formal notification has been issued to confirm these promotions.

IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi emphasized that promotions are a testament to the hard work and integrity of the officers. He highlighted the importance of personnel welfare and timely promotions as key priorities, ensuring that all eligible officers are promoted based on established guidelines. Rizvi expressed confidence that the newly promoted officers will fulfill their responsibilities with enhanced dedication and professionalism, contributing to community policing and crime prevention.

The promotion process continues under principles of transparency and merit, with the Departmental Promotion Committee also reviewing cases of other officers. However, 18 Sub-Inspectors and seven Assistant Sub-Inspectors were not recommended for promotion due to various departmental reasons. These officers have been advised to enhance their performance and records for future consideration.
