Pro-Freedom Leader Ghulam Mohammad Naiko Passes Away in Srinagar


Srinagar: Prominent pro-freedom leader Ghulam Mohammad Naiko passed away after a brief illness in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Naiko, originally from the Seelu area of Sopore, had been residing in the Bemina area of Srinagar in recent years.



Naiko was associated with several pro-freedom organizations, including Al-Fatah, People’s League, and the Muslim Conference. He was recognized for his significant contributions to the resistance movement against India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite facing severe repression, he remained dedicated to the cause.



The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) spokesperson, Advocate Abdul Rashid, expressed profound sorrow over Naiko’s passing and extended condolences to his family. APHC-AJK leaders, including Mohammad Farooq Rehmani and others, also mourned the loss, acknowledging Naiko’s tireless efforts for the freedom struggle. They offered prayers for his soul and strength for his family.
