Privatisation Commission Partners with Asian Development Bank for Islamabad Airport Outsourcing


Islamabad: The Privatisation Commission of Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have entered into a Transaction Advisory Services Agreement where ADB will act as the Financial Advisor for the outsourcing of Islamabad International Airport. The agreement was signed by Ms. Emma Fan, Country Director of ADB’s Pakistan Resident Mission, and Mr. Shahid Dayo, Director General of the Privatisation Commission.



According to Press Information Department, the signing ceremony was attended by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatisation, Mr. Muhammad Ali, along with senior officials from the Privatisation Commission and ADB. The agreement outlines ADB’s role in providing a comprehensive array of advisory services, including financial, legal, environmental, and commercial expertise, to ensure the transaction is structured and implemented according to international standards.



The agreement is a significant step forward in the government’s privatisation efforts, aimed at improving the efficiency and service quality of Islamabad International Airport by engaging private sector expertise. The process is designed to be transparent and competitive, aiming to attract top international airport operators and investors.
