New York: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam of the Lebanese Republic on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and regional developments.
According to Press Information Department, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Lebanon. They exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of Lebanon’s sovereignty and political independence. Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s support for Lebanon’s territorial integrity and called for the cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
The leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation through high-level exchanges and partnerships in trade, investment, and defense. They also emphasized the significance of continued coordination at the United Nations and other multilateral fora.
