Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Japan Discuss U.S.-Iran Talks and Bilateral Cooperation


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, focusing on the Islamabad Talks between the United States and Iran. The dialogue underscored the importance of diplomatic efforts in fostering regional stability and global energy security.



According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Takaichi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role in facilitating the ceasefire and the subsequent discussions. Japan affirmed its support for the peace process, highlighting the significance of these efforts on an international scale. Prime Minister Sharif, in turn, acknowledged the contributions of the U.S. and Iranian delegations and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining the ceasefire.



The two leaders expressed a mutual interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Japan. Both Prime Ministers agreed to continue their coordination to further strengthen ties.
