Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who congratulated him on Pakistan’s role in facilitating peace talks between the United States and Iran. The conversation centered on the temporary ceasefire achieved and the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada.
According to Press Information Department, the Canadian Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts that led to the recent negotiations hosted in Pakistan. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of the US-Iran talks in promoting peace and assured continued efforts to maintain the ceasefire and advance regional stability.
The leaders discussed enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Canada in agriculture, clean energy, and mining sectors, alongside boosting Canadian investments in Pakistan. Prime Minister Sharif also reiterated his invitation for Prime Minister Carney to visit Pakistan officially.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination in their diplomatic engagements.
