Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for agreeing to extend the ceasefire with Iran, a move aimed at facilitating ongoing diplomatic efforts. According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister conveyed his appreciation through a post on the social media platform X, where he thanked President Trump on his own behalf and on behalf of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to pursuing a negotiated settlement to the conflict, highlighting the trust and confidence placed in the country’s diplomatic endeavors.
Sharif expressed optimism that the involved parties would uphold the ceasefire and work towards finalizing a peace deal during the second round of talks scheduled to take place in Islamabad.
