Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Vows to Maintain Economic Stability Amid Challenges


Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in discussions with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday, affirmed that his government would not allow any forces to destabilize Pakistan’s economy, ensuring that all scheduled international events in the country will proceed without disruption.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in the rapid return to normalcy in the country and emphasized that economic development and national prosperity remain paramount in his administration’s priorities. Sharif criticized political adversaries for their inability to appreciate the economic advancements and international praise Pakistan has received for its economic policies.



The meeting also covered security measures, where Sharif praised the efforts of the Interior Minister, the Islamabad administration, and the police for their effectiveness in maintaining order in the federal capital. He highlighted the coordinated efforts of Islamabad Police, the Pakistan Army, Punjab Police, and Rangers in averting a significant security threat to Islamabad.



Furthermore, the Prime Minister honored the late Police Constable Hameed Shah, acknowledging his ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and stressing that the nation would forever remember his valor. Sharif instructed that the government should provide full support to the family of the martyred constable.



Interior Minister Naqvi updated the Prime Minister on the current security situation, noting that major roads had been reopened to traffic and normalcy was being restored swiftly. Additionally, he informed Sharif about the repatriation of 56 Pakistani prisoners from Sri Lanka, facilitated by Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan, who covered all expenses related to their return.



Prime Minister Sharif commended the efforts of Naqvi and Khan in the repatriation project, reflecting the government’s commitment to assisting Pakistanis abroad as part of its broader diplomatic and humanitarian efforts.
