Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Mourns Policeman’s Death, Condemns Violence at Islamabad Protest

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the death of a policeman, Abdul Hameed, who was killed during a protest in Islamabad. Abdul Hameed lost his life due to stone pelting by protesters from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The Prime Minister also directed authorities to ensure that those responsible for the violence are brought to justice.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif offered prayers for Abdul Hameed and extended condolences to his family. Sharif condemned the PTI, accusing it of resorting to violence under the guise of protest. He recalled past incidents where PTI supporters attacked the PTV building and the Parliament House’s gate.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed his grief and extended his condolences to the family of Abdul Hameed. He noted that the nation pays tribute to Abdul Hameed, who died serving his country.
