Islamabad: Mr. Timur Turlov, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Freedom Holding Corporation, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to discuss potential business expansions in Pakistan.
According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif was joined by key officials, including Federal Minister for IT Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for Finance Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, SAPM Tariq Fatemi, SAPM on Industries and Production Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, and Foreign Secretary Amb. Amna Baloch. The meeting focused on Mr. Turlov’s interest in expanding Freedom Holding Corp’s operations in Pakistan through the establishment of branches, digital financial services, and correspondent banking partnerships.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to an economic reform agenda and investor-friendly policies, aiming for rapid growth and digital transformation. He highlighted the potential of Pakistan’s young population and digital infrastructure, inviting Freedom Holding Corp. to engage in the country’s financial market development. Discussions also covered potential collaborations in retail brokerage, Islamic banking solutions, fintech innovation, and capital market development.
Mr. Turlov expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic prospects and emphasized his company’s commitment to aligning long-term strategic investments with Pakistan’s development goals.
