Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a recent address to coalition parties and parliamentarians in Islamabad, underscored his government’s dedication to navigating Pakistan through its prevailing economic turmoil. Hosting a dinner in honor of the coalition’s support, Sharif called for unity and collaborative efforts to honor the country’s mandate and confront the myriad of challenges likened to the “towering Himalayas.”

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of the coalition government in these testing times and highlighted the urgent need to enhance the country’s tax-to-GDP ratio, which remains significantly lower than that of neighboring countries. Sharif’s remarks come ahead of the anticipated election of PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari as President of Pakistan, signaling a forthcoming era of strengthened coordination between the presidency and the Prime Minister’s office to address these critical issues.

Asif Ali Zardari, in his address, pledged unwavering support to Prime Minister Sharif, suggesting that advancements in agriculture could serve as a pivotal solution to Pakistan’s economic woes. Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lauded the eighteenth amendment as a constitutional milestone and voiced optimism about Zardari’s role in fortifying the federation post-election.

The gathering underscored a collective resolve to surmount Pakistan’s challenges through unity, cooperation, and strategic governance, signaling a concerted effort to stabilize and prosper in the face of adversity.

Islamabad, In a significant push to accelerate the privatization process, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has issued directives to hasten efforts and take urgent measures for capacity building of the institutions involved. The decision came during a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister in Islamabad, focusing on the review of the ongoing privatization process and its impact on the country’s economy.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister’s directive emphasizes the need to expedite privatization as a means to revive the economy and facilitate the process of providing relief to the people. The meeting saw the constitution of a committee tasked with reviewing proposals for the transfer of power companies to the provincial governments. This committee is expected to present its proposals to the Prime Minister shortly.



The move to speed up the privatization process reflects the government’s commitment to economic reform and the efficient management of state-owned enterprises. By delegating power companies to the provinces, the government aims to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of these entities to the local needs.
