Attackers Seize Weapons from Slain Policemen in Kathua

Jammu: Social media reports have emerged that attackers have taken weapons from four Indian policemen who were killed during a two-day encounter in the Kathua district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

The encounter, which took place in a remote forested area, concluded a day ago and resulted in the deaths of the policemen. Reports on social media suggest that the attackers who engaged in the confrontation escaped with the weapons of the fallen officers.

However, Indian police have refuted these claims. A police spokesperson labeled the social media reports as rumors and warned of strict action against those spreading such information.

“Some anti-national elements are spreading rumors on social media of snatching of weapon of our policemen killed in operation Safiyan. These claims of weapon-snatching are false,” stated the spokesperson.

The incident has drawn attention due to the ongoing tensions in the region, with officials urging the public to rely on verified information and avoid spreading unsubstantiated claims.
