Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Calls for International Response to Palestinian Evictions in Gaza

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a strong appeal to the global community for immediate intervention following a recent UN report detailing forced evictions and severe child malnutrition among Palestinians in Gaza. The report, released by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), highlights ongoing crises, including extensive displacement and targeted aggressions against Palestinian children.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif described the UN’s findings as clear evidence of what he termed an “Israeli genocide against oppressed Palestinians.” The report notes that Palestinian children are disproportionately affected, with significant numbers facing acute malnutrition and ongoing violence. Sharif emphasized the eviction of 250,000 Palestinians in August alone as a grave challenge to international norms and legal frameworks.

The Prime Minister further criticized the rapid pace of oppression, citing the eviction of 146 Palestinians over a mere two-day period as indicative of the severity of the situation. He pointed to the dual use of weaponry and starvation tactics as part of what he called a genocidal strategy against the Palestinian people.

Sharif’s statement also highlighted the broader implications of these actions, labeling them as a serious indictment against Israel by international bodies. He called for accountability for the perpetrators and protection for the victims, asserting that those responsible for what he referred to as “murders of humanity” must face justice.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to increasing aid, particularly in food delivery, to the affected regions in Gaza, focusing on alleviating the suffering of children.
