Islamabad, In a significant development aimed at bolstering bilateral ties, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Islamabad on Saturday. The meeting focused on exploring avenues to strengthen defense and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia amidst discussions on the regional peace and security landscape.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing defense and economic links, pointing to the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council as a pivotal step towards simplifying investment processes for investors. He expressed Pakistan’s anticipation of the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman’s visit, conveying good wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince.
The Saudi Defence Minister expressed his gratitude for the invitation to Pakistan’s National Day parade, reflecting the cordial relations between the two nations. The meeting, which was also attended by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, signifies a mutual interest in deepening the defense and economic partnership, underscoring the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
