Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the swift implementation of policy measures aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business in Pakistan, including the Asaan Karobar Act 2025.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting focused on Ease of Doing Business in Islamabad, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of third-party validation by international institutions to evaluate the effectiveness of these measures. Sharif highlighted that maximizing Pakistan’s potential for domestic and foreign investment is a key priority for the government. He also called for a detailed report on the progress of these initiatives to be prepared and submitted promptly.

The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Law and Justice, the Special Investment Facilitation Council, the Board of Investment, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industries, and other relevant bodies in advancing legislation and policies to facilitate business operations. The meeting was briefed on the completion of 558 reforms, with 71 already implemented and 272 actively underway, aimed at reducing regulatory burdens and streamlining business procedures. These reforms are part of a phased rollout across various sectors and are projected to save the business community approximately 468.7 billion rupees.

Eliminating unnecessary paperwork and regulations is expected to bolster exports, attract foreign direct investment, and create employment opportunities, as discussed in the meeting.
