Prime Minister Sharif Reduces Power Prices Amid IMF Program

LAHORE: Punjab Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has fulfilled a key promise to the nation by successfully reducing electricity tariffs.

In a press conference held in Lahore, Minister Aurangzeb highlighted this reduction as a significant achievement, especially given the constraints of the ongoing International Monetary Fund (IMF) program. She described the accomplishment as “nothing short of a miracle,” emphasizing the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on citizens.

The minister also criticized the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, holding him responsible for the country’s challenges with terrorism and mounting debt.

Aurangzeb reiterated the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party’s focus on development projects aimed at improving the lives of the common people, reaffirming its dedication to addressing the needs of the populace.
