ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Police who lost their lives in the line of duty, during the observance of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police. The day is marked to honor the sacrifices made by police martyrs in the defense of the nation.
According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the critical role the police have played in combating terrorism, violent extremism, and crime, describing their service as deserving of the nation’s deepest gratitude. He emphasized the importance of the sacrifices made by police martyrs in safeguarding citizens and maintaining public order, asserting that the entire nation salutes their selfless devotion.
The Prime Minister also extended his tribute to the families of those who have fallen, recognizing their strength and resilience. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting these families, promising access to quality education, healthcare, and comprehensive welfare initiatives as a priority.
Sharif further pledged to equip the police with the necessary resources to fulfill their national responsibilities effectively, highlighting the enhancement of professional capacities as a national security priority. He called for a collective resolve to uphold the rule of law and work towards eradicating terrorism and crime, aiming to build a prosperous nation that honors the sacrifices of its martyrs.
