Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed appreciation for the role of newspapers and associated professionals while commemorating National Newspaper Readership Day on September 25, 2026. He highlighted the significance of newspapers in reflecting the political, economic, and social dimensions of national life and underscored their role in fostering an informed society.

According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif paid tribute to the members of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and newspaper readers across the country. He emphasized the historical importance of newspapers in shaping public opinion and providing credible information. During the independence movement, newspapers served as a voice for Muslims in the subcontinent, contributing to political consciousness and unity.
