Prime Minister Sharif and President Erdogan Discuss Peace Efforts at Antalya Diplomacy Forum


Antalya: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Antalya. The bilateral meeting, attended by senior officials from both countries, focused on regional peace efforts and strengthening bilateral relations.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar, and Turkish Foreign Minister H.E. Hakan Fidan, among other officials. President Erdogan welcomed Prime Minister Sharif to Türkiye and expressed support for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at regional peace.



Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for President Erdogan’s hospitality and congratulated him on the success of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The leaders discussed regional developments, particularly in the Middle East, and agreed on the importance of extending the ceasefire and resuming talks for a peace agreement.



Both leaders highlighted the significance of using the current opportunity to advance lasting regional peace. They expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Türkiye relations and agreed to hold the 8th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting in Ankara later this year. The meeting concluded with a commitment to further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
