Prime Minister Sharif and President Aliyev Discuss Eid Greetings and Regional Tensions


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan engaged in a telephone conversation to exchange Eid-ul-Fitr greetings and discuss regional tensions. The leaders expressed mutual wishes for the holiday and addressed the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Gulf region, calling for de-escalation and dialogue.



According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed Eid ul Fitr wishes to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan. In response, President Aliyev extended similar wishes to the people of Pakistan. The two leaders emphasized unity in the Ummah and exchanged views on regional issues, specifically condemning attacks against Azerbaijan.



Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the current state of Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties. The conversation highlighted the importance both nations place on diplomacy and peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region.
