Prime Minister of Pakistan Discusses Regional Tensions with Amir of Qatar


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar. During the call, the two leaders discussed the escalating tensions in the region and emphasized the need for restraint and dialogue among involved parties to maintain peace.



According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister communicated Pakistan’s solidarity with Qatar following recent attacks and expressed gratitude for Qatar’s support in peace efforts, which included the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and technical talks held in Burgenstock. The discussion underscored the importance of diplomatic engagement and adherence to commitments outlined in the peace memorandum.



His Highness the Amir acknowledged the contributions of Prime Minister Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in promoting regional peace and assured ongoing support from Qatar.
