Prime Minister Hosts Breakfast for Prince Rahim Aga Khan V During Official Visit to Pakistan


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hosted a breakfast meeting in honor of His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, marking the prince’s first official visit to Pakistan. The meeting underscored the commitment of both parties to peace, stability, and international cooperation.



According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Prince Rahim Aga Khan V’s dedication to these ideals and assured him of Pakistan’s continued support. The longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) was a focal point of the discussions, with Prime Minister Sharif commending AKDN’s significant contributions in various sectors, including rural development, healthcare, and education, particularly in regions like Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.



The Prime Minister urged further collaboration, especially in enhancing climate resilience in northern areas prone to glacial vulnerabilities. Acknowledging the efforts of the Aga Khan University (AKU), Prime Minister Sharif welcomed deeper engagement in healthcare and education initiatives.



In a gesture of goodwill, the Prime Minister thanked Prince Rahim Aga Khan V for the use of the Serena Hotel for the Islamabad Talks. He also expressed condolences on the passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, honoring his legacy with a commemorative stamp. Prince Rahim Aga Khan V expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated his commitment to ongoing cooperation in human development endeavors.
