Prime Minister and Jordanian King Discuss Peace and Regional Stability

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and King Abdullah-II of Jordan engaged in a telephonic conversation to exchange Eid-ul-Fitr greetings and to discuss the pressing need for peace and harmony within the Ummah. The dialogue also covered the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of restraint and diplomatic resolutions to escalating tensions.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister extended warm Eid greetings to the Jordanian Royal Family and expressed solidarity with the people of Jordan amidst the current regional challenges. Prime Minister Sharif condemned the attacks on Jordan and articulated his concern over the situation in the Middle East, advocating for a de-escalation of hostilities.

The conversation also saw Prime Minister Sharif recalling King Abdullah’s visit to Pakistan last November, during which he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Jordan. Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining close contact on matters of mutual interest, including trade, investment, and defense.
