Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has sanctioned several legislative amendments, a significant appointment, civil awards, and a special remission in sentences. According to Radio Pakistan, the legislative measures endorsed include the Pakistan Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and amendments to the Newspaper Employees, Zakat and Ushr, National Archives, and other key bills.

The President also approved Eazaz Aslam Dar’s appointment as a Member of the Federal Public Service Commission, representing Balochistan. Furthermore, the conferment of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz was granted to Professor Sarwar Muhammad Khawaja, Rashid Malik, and Zain ul Abideen Ahsan for their contributions. Special remission in sentences was approved on the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Pakistan Day, 2026.
