Islamabad: The Prime Minister of Pakistan engaged in a telephone conversation with Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, marking their first interaction since the signing of the Islamabad Peace Deal. The call, lasting over thirty minutes, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister extended congratulations to President Pezeshkian and the Iranian leadership on the historic peace agreement. He emphasized that the deal is expected to restore regional peace and bolster Pakistan-Iran relations across mutual interests. Additionally, the Prime Minister conveyed regards to Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, and expressed support for Iran’s upcoming negotiation phases.

President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their crucial roles in the peace process. He acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive efforts and affirmed Iran’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. Both leaders agreed on future visits to each other’s capitals to enhance cooperation in both bilateral and regional matters, maintaining regular contact in the coming days.
