President Zardari Urges New Ambassador to Iran to Enhance Bilateral Trade and Connectivity


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, to focus on strengthening bilateral relations with an emphasis on trade and people-to-people contacts. The President highlighted the importance of facilitating Pakistani Zaireen visiting Iran and emphasized the removal of obstacles in bilateral trade.



According to Press Information Department, President Zardari expressed the significance of Pakistan’s relationship with Iran, noting the shared history, cultural ties, and common border. He instructed the new ambassador to actively engage with various segments of Iranian society, including civil society and students, to bolster connectivity and support the welfare of the Pakistani community in Iran.



The President reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to Iran’s territorial integrity and independence, underscoring the importance of collaboration for regional peace and stability. He congratulated Siddiqui on his appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to enhance Pakistan-Iran relations.
