Ankara: The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara held a ceremony to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, attended by notable figures including Member of Parliament Burhan Kayaturk, Rector of Ankara Bilim University Prof. Dr. Yavuz Demir, President of the Geostrategic Foresight Institute Dr. Guray Alpar, Ambassador (R) Numan Hazar, along with representatives from Turkish foreign ministry, think tanks, academia, media, and the Pakistani community.
According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid highlighted the courage and professionalism of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the nation during Marka-e-Haq. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to international law and peace, citing Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos as a demonstration of Pakistan’s resolve and restraint. He also expressed appreciation for Turkiye’s support and the objective reporting by the Turkish media during the tensions.
Turkish MP Burhan Kayatürk reaffirmed Turkiye’s support for Pakistan, emphasizing that strong defense capabilities deter conflict and promote peace. He commended Pakistan for its diplomatic efforts to promote regional stability and dialogue.
Dr. Güray Alpar, President of the Geostrategic Foresight Institute, stressed the importance of dialogue and international law in resolving regional disputes, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. He praised Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement and highlighted the necessity of not weaponizing vital resources like water.
Former Ambassador Numan Hazar reiterated the need for adherence to international law and United Nations resolutions for peace preservation. He emphasized that while nations must be prepared to defend their sovereignty, lasting peace is achieved through dialogue.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s peace, stability, and prosperity.
