Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli forces, describing it as a violation of international law and an attack on the site’s sanctity. He warned against any efforts to change the mosque’s established status.
According to Press Information Department, President Zardari referred to the incident on April 6 involving an Israeli minister as a provocation and rejected attempts to alter the religious and legal status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He expressed concern over access restrictions to the mosque during significant religious periods such as Ramzan and Eid, suggesting that regional conflicts, including the US-Iran tensions, were being used as a pretext for these actions.
The President called for urgent international intervention to prevent further such actions and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, advocating for their right to an independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
