Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his congratulations to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the government, and the people of Singapore on their 61st National Day. In a letter, President Zardari lauded Singapore’s achievements in nation-building and economic transformation, acknowledging the country’s journey as an example for resilience and progress.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari’s message also highlighted the significance of this year, marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Singapore. He noted that the relationship between the two countries has grown stronger over the decades, based on mutual trust and close ties among their peoples.

President Zardari pointed out the potential for further collaboration in areas such as the digital economy, green technology, maritime and logistics connectivity, urban planning, vocational training, academic and cultural exchanges, and tourism. He expressed Pakistan’s willingness to work closely with Singapore to enhance cooperation in these fields for the mutual benefit of both nations.
