President Zardari Congratulates Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party on Election Win

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party and its leader Balendra Shah on their recent electoral victory, marking a significant moment in the country’s political landscape. The President emphasized the active participation of young people in the electoral process, highlighting a regional drive towards accountable governance and reform.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari noted that the rise of youth-driven leadership in Nepal sends a positive signal throughout South Asia and the global community. He drew parallels to Pakistan’s own history, recalling the legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who was the youngest Prime Minister of Pakistan, and expressed hope that the emergence of a young Prime Minister in Nepal would be beneficial for the region.

The President also reflected on the diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and Nepal, established in 1960, and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation founded on mutual respect, goodwill, and shared interests. He extended his best wishes for the success of Nepal’s new leadership in achieving its reform objectives and advancing the nation’s progress while reaffirming the friendship between the two countries.
