Sanya, China: President Asif Ali Zardari, during an official visit to Sanya, China, engaged in a telephone conversation with Iraq’s Prime Minister-Designate, Ali Falih Khadim Al-Zaidi. The discussion focused on enhancing bilateral economic and institutional cooperation.
According to Press Information Department, President Zardari congratulated Al-Zaidi on his appointment and expressed hope for a stable government formation in Iraq. He emphasized the strong relationship between Pakistan and Iraq, highlighting shared values and mutual respect as a foundation for future cooperation.
The conversation also touched upon the potential for expanded economic engagement, particularly in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and renewable energy. President Zardari advocated for increased academic collaboration and people-to-people exchanges to support a sustained partnership.
Prime Minister-Designate Al-Zaidi expressed gratitude for the President’s warm wishes and extended an invitation for Zardari to visit Iraq at a mutually convenient time.
