Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for increased investment in young people, women, and children as a means to harness Pakistan’s demographic potential for sustainable national development. In a message delivered on World Population Day, President Zardari emphasized the strategic importance of empowering these groups to spearhead progress in the nation.
According to Radio Pakistan, the President highlighted the significant opportunity presented by Pakistan’s large youth population. He articulated that providing quality education, healthcare, skills, and employment to young people is crucial for the country’s advancement. Additionally, he underscored the importance of empowering women to build stronger families and communities.
In his message, President Zardari paid tribute to the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, particularly her focus on women’s empowerment, education, and reproductive health. He noted that her legacy continues to inspire efforts for national development. The President also called upon various sectors, including government institutions, parliamentarians, academia, civil society, development partners, religious leaders, the media, and communities, to collaborate for the health, wellbeing, and empowerment of the people. He reaffirmed a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Pakistan.
