Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed approval of the recent ceasefire announcement in Lebanon. According to Radio Pakistan, the President highlighted the ceasefire as a significant move towards reducing tensions in the region, emphasizing its potential to pave the way for enduring peace.

Prime Minister Sharif, in a post on his X handle, recognized the ceasefire’s facilitation through diplomatic efforts led by President Donald Trump. He mentioned that this development is expected to create a pathway to sustainable peace in the region. Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, assuring continued backing for initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace.
