President and Prime Minister of Pakistan Condemn Shooting at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) Dinner in Washington, where U.S. President Donald Trump and the First Lady were present. Both leaders expressed relief that the President, the First Lady, and other attendees remained unharmed during the incident.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari’s statement labeled the incident as a form of terrorism and emphasized its worthiness of condemnation. Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also issued a statement echoing similar sentiments. He conveyed relief over the safety of all attendees and extended best wishes for the well-being of President Trump and the First Lady.

Prime Minister Sharif, in a post on his social media account, described the incident as disturbing and expressed his shock. He also expressed relief over the safety of President Trump, the First Lady, and other guests at the event, while offering his thoughts and prayers for their continued safety and well-being.
