ISLAMABAD: In a significant operation, authorities in Islamabad have arrested 24 individuals and confiscated a range of drugs and weapons, the Islamabad Police announced. The arrests were made by teams from multiple police stations including Aabpara, Kohsar, Tarnol, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Shams Colony, Khana, and Shehzad Town, targeting individuals involved in various criminal activities.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation resulted in the recovery of 190 grams of hashish, 250 grams of heroin, 340 grams of Ice, a dagger, and two pistols with ammunition. Legal cases have been filed against those arrested, with investigations currently underway. The campaign also aimed at capturing proclaimed offenders and absconders, leading to the arrest of 16 criminals.
Following directives from IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the police have intensified their efforts to curb crime and maintain stability in the federal capital. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding residents and maintaining public peace. He urged citizens to report any suspicious activity to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster collaboration between law enforcement and the community in combating crime.
