President and Prime Minister Discuss Mediation Efforts in Iran-US Talks

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss progress in the ongoing Iran-United States negotiations. The meeting, held in Islamabad, included a comprehensive briefing on the dialogue stages and Pakistan’s mediation role. Discussions also covered upcoming diplomatic engagements in Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif informed President Zardari about the advancements in the dialogue facilitated by Pakistan. The President acknowledged the significance of the regional and global impact of these talks and lauded Pakistan’s role in hosting the negotiations. He expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Chief of Defence Forces, and other state institutions for their contributions to this diplomatic effort.

President Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s historic commitment to global peace and regional stability, highlighting its pivotal role in providing a platform for critical dialogues. He urged continued proactive engagement with Iran, the United States, and other global and regional powers to sustain the peace process and maintain regional stability.
