President and Prime Minister Commit to Expanding Digital Access Nationwide


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing digital access and connectivity throughout Pakistan.



According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders conveyed their messages on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, emphasizing the importance of the telecommunications sector’s contributions to national development. President Zardari highlighted ongoing efforts to advance fiber deployment and finalize satellite communications regulations, particularly for remote regions.



Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the government’s dedication to the swift implementation of 5G technology, the finalization of the National Fiberization Policy, and the encouragement of local device manufacturing. He also noted the rapid growth of the country’s digital sector, with annual IT exports reaching $3.8 billion.
