President and Prime Minister Call for National Emphasis on Resilience


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have urged all institutions, communities, and citizens to acknowledge resilience as a collective national responsibility. Their remarks were made in separate messages issued on the occasion of National Resilience Day, which is observed annually to commemorate the victims of the devastating 2005 earthquake and to promote disaster preparedness.



According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders stressed the importance of shifting focus from merely reacting to emergencies to anticipating potential risks. They highlighted the crucial role that scientific knowledge, reliable data, and emerging technologies should play in this strategic shift. National Resilience Day serves as a reminder of the need for preparedness and proactive measures in facing natural disasters.
