President and Prime Minister Acknowledge Teachers’ Role in Nation-Building on World Teachers’ Day

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have commended teachers for their essential contributions to nation-building and character development, underscoring the critical role of educators in shaping future generations. Their messages came as part of World Teachers’ Day observances, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the education system.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari highlighted the multifaceted roles teachers play, including imparting knowledge, nurturing curiosity, and shaping character. He noted that this year’s theme, “Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures,” underscores the need to recognize teachers’ importance and provide them with professional support and opportunities.

In his message, Prime Minister Sharif stressed that educational institutions and teachers are foundational to national progress and prosperity through their role in character-building. He pointed to the establishment of Danish Schools across the country as part of efforts to make quality education accessible to talented students, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
