Power Minister Directs Improved Handling of Consumer Complaints


ISLAMABAD: Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari has issued directives to all power distribution companies aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and transparency in addressing electricity consumers’ complaints. The minister emphasized the need for immediate action against officers who exhibit poor performance in managing consumer issues.



According to Radio Pakistan, during a review meeting in Islamabad focused on the 118 Smart Call Center, the minister instructed the companies to identify and report sub-divisions with poor and excellent performance on a monthly basis. The meeting highlighted that from October 2025 to February 2026, the call center received over two million and twenty thousand calls, with most being successfully resolved. The service level compliance was reported to be over ninety-six percent.
