Islamabad: A high-level Polish delegation, led by Pawel Dabrowski, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of the Interior for International Cooperation, visited the National Emergencies Operations Centre at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters in Islamabad. The visit focused on advancing disaster management collaboration between Poland and Pakistan.

According to Press Information Department, the NDMA team presented an overview of the National Emergencies Operations Centre’s capabilities and Pakistan’s proactive disaster management systems. Chairman NDMA, Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, highlighted measures for regional integration and a global disaster risk reduction approach. The presentation included Pakistan’s recent achievements in disaster management and future plans involving next-generation technologies for early warnings and coordinated responses.

The meeting emphasized NDMA’s coordination with national and security leadership and its connections with global academia and humanitarian organizations. The Polish delegation acknowledged the benefits of multi-tiered coordination and disaster response readiness, supporting localized risk communication and resource mobilization.

A demonstration of “Disaster Lens 2026” and international simulation exercises was provided, showcasing Pakistan’s disaster management methods. The Polish delegation expressed a strong interest in continued collaboration with Pakistan, stressing the importance of strengthening institutional linkages to address climate change and complex disaster risks.
