Rahim Yar Khan: In a decisive operation, the Punjab Police in Rahim Yar Khan have announced the death of Korra Kosh, a notorious gangster implicated in the deaths of multiple police officers. The operation, which resulted in the recovery of a Kalashnikov rifle and a substantial quantity of ammunition, marks a significant win for law enforcement in the region.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police, Kosh was involved in the killing of three police officers this year and twelve others in 2022, in the Kacha Machhka area. His criminal activities extended beyond these incidents, making him a prime suspect in several high-profile cases, including kidnapping for ransom, murder, and armed robbery.

The police operation was initiated in the Daulatabad area of Kacha Machhka, where the Kosh gang had established hideouts. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued between officers and the gang members. As a strategic move during the confrontation, police forces set fire to the gang’s bunkers and hideouts.

The operation is ongoing, as confirmed by the police spokesperson, with support from a large contingent of officers equipped with armored vehicles, modern weaponry, and Elite Force commandos.

Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised the Rahim Yar Khan police for their efforts in neutralizing the threat posed by Kosh and his gang. District Police Officer Rizwan Umar Gondal emphasized that the crackdown on criminal elements will persist until enduring peace is established in the Kacha region.
