Karachi: Efforts by the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Maritime Reforms to enhance the functionality of Pakistan’s ports are showing promising outcomes. The task force has implemented several measures to streamline port operations, resulting in a more efficient system.
According to Radio Pakistan, significant improvements have been made in customs clearance processes through the upgrading of the WeBoc system and the introduction of a new Port Community system. These advancements in digitalization and automation, along with better space management techniques, have led to a noticeable reduction in port congestion.
These reforms are instrumental in positioning Pakistan as a potential regional transshipment hub, indicating a positive trajectory for the country’s maritime sector.
