ISLAMABAD: In a significant operation, Islamabad Police have arrested 23 individuals suspected of engaging in various criminal activities, while also recovering a substantial quantity of drugs and weapons. Police seized 35 grams of hashish, 1,274 grams of ice, a Kalashnikov, three daggers, and 11 pistols with ammunition. Criminal cases have been registered against those apprehended, and investigations are underway.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were part of a broader campaign initiated to apprehend proclaimed offenders and absconders. The operation led to the capture of four additional criminals. This initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at reinforcing efforts to combat crime and maintain order in the federal capital.
Qazi Ali Raza, Senior Superintendent of Police Operations in Islamabad, emphasized the department’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He affirmed that maintaining public peace is a primary objective and that no disruptive elements will be tolerated. The public is encouraged to report suspicious activities to local police stations or use the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster cooperation between the police and the community in eradicating crime.
