Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his support in Pakistan’s peace efforts during a phone call, highlighting the Kingdom’s role in the recent signing of the Islamabad Peace Deal between Iran and the United States.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif commended the Crown Prince for his leadership and consistent backing, which he said was crucial in reaching the peace agreement. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia’s and other Gulf states’ contributions to achieving the deal within a short timeframe.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman extended congratulations to Prime Minister Sharif and acknowledged the efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in the successful negotiations. Both leaders stressed the importance of ensuring that the forthcoming negotiations between Iran and the U.S. proceed without disruption, advocating for resolution through dialogue and diplomacy.
The discussion also touched upon the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, with Prime Minister Sharif noting the readiness to finalize a comprehensive economic package under the Crown Prince’s patronage. The Prime Minister extended an invitation for an official visit to Pakistan to the Crown Prince and conveyed regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The leaders agreed to maintain close coordination moving forward.
