PM Shehbaz Sharif Instructs Training in AI and Digital Finance for Youth


Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that youth in Pakistan receive specialized training in modern technologies, emphasizing areas such as artificial intelligence and digital finance, as part of a strategy to prepare the country’s workforce for future economic demands. These instructions were issued during a meeting with Bilal bin Saqib, Minister of State and Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, in Lahore.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister also called for the establishment of an effective and internationally compliant regulatory system within the virtual assets sector to be operational as soon as possible. This initiative aims to bolster the digital economy and boost investor confidence in Pakistan.



During the meeting, Bilal bin Saqib briefed Prime Minister Sharif on the ongoing transition of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority into a fully functional regulatory body, alongside the introduction of a regulatory sandbox. The briefing underscored the introduction of innovations in AI-powered payments and regulated virtual asset services.



It was further discussed that efforts are underway to prepare national institutions, human resources, and the regulatory framework to accommodate the next wave of economic transformation in the country.
