New York: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s full support for the Global Development Initiative (GDI), emphasizing its importance for developing countries. The Prime Minister made these remarks at a high-level meeting on the GDI hosted by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in New York.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted that the GDI serves as a significant platform for solidarity and South-South Cooperation. He noted that its objectives align with Pakistan’s national economic transformation plan. The Prime Minister also emphasized that Pakistan’s collaboration with China is ongoing through the Belt and Road Initiative and its flagship project, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is now entering its second phase.

Prime Minister Sharif further stated that the GDI is crucial for advancing the 2030 agenda. He expressed Pakistan’s eagerness for continued cooperation with China and other members of the Group of Friends to further the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity.
