PM Orders Immediate Pass-On of Declining Oil Prices to Citizens: Ali Pervaiz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to ensure that the benefits of decreasing oil prices in the international market are promptly transferred to the public. This directive was communicated by Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik in a recent post on his X handle.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister revealed that a high-level committee has been established to develop a transparent weekly formula for determining petroleum product prices. This formula will be created after comprehensive discussions with all relevant stakeholders, allowing citizens to better understand the reasons behind changes in oil prices.

Ali Pervaiz Malik assured the public that despite ongoing regional tensions, Pakistan’s oil supply chain has remained uninterrupted. The Minister also highlighted the government’s ongoing review of the energy security framework and the implementation of new measures aimed at safeguarding state interests and ensuring energy security.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the stakeholders and the public for their cooperation during the recent crisis.
