ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reached out to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to wish him Eid-ul-Fitr greetings, during which both leaders discussed the progress in their bilateral relations.
The exchange, which took place via a phone call, highlighted the satisfaction of both leaders regarding the strengthening ties between their countries, especially following the Prime Minister’s visit to Dushanbe last year.
Prime Minister Sharif took the opportunity to congratulate President Rahmon on the successful conclusion of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border delimitation treaty, a significant step for regional stability.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his anticipation of attending an upcoming high-level event focused on glacier preservation in Dushanbe this May, underlining the importance of collaborative environmental efforts.
During the conversation, the Prime Minister reiterated his invitation for President Rahmon to visit Pakistan, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to enhancing the bilateral relationship.
President Rahmon expressed his gratitude for the call and extended Eid greetings to the people of Pakistan, reinforcing the friendly ties between the two nations.
